    Making User Agent settings permanent

    Dear help,
I cannot log on to Skype any more as Chromium is no longer supported.
When I change my Chromium user agent settings to the approved Browser Edge, I can log on.
The problem is I cannot save the settings.
Is there any way I can do this?
I don't want to move away from Linux and go back to Windows.
    Thanks in advance.

    I found the answer.
I gave up on Chromium and went to Fire Fox for Linux.
I have the latest version of Firefox which is 63.
Using about:config to get into settings, I added two new settings by right clicking on the settings window and using "New":
    1) general.useragent.overridepreference
    2) general.useragent.override
Then I found a user agent string that would work for Skype and added them to the settings. The best one is Chrome on Windows 10.
    This worked
There is an add on called User Agent switcher, but the settings do not persist. So every time a reboot is done you have to set the user agent again. The best method is to add the new settings as I described above.
Anyway I can use Skype again.
