My Problem: My server is only allowing 1 user every 3-5 mintues to get mail. The connection times out on the user end. I can see the users ipop3d process on the server.

Actions Taken: I have rebooted and checked all the log with not results. Network activity is normal.

Useless comments: As each hour passed more users seem to get mail.

Partial listing of ps -ef:

I think we should check the ipop3d and sendmail settings.

Also, you can check if there is another running application that uses the same port as ipop3d.

What version of ipop3 are using ???Is that on Redhat 7.1..Before the version that came with Redhat 7.1, ipop was pretty slow anyway, I had to use qpoper instead because it was slow. But I think your problem here has to do with Firewall setting. Are you using some kind of firewall if yes or not.
Do # netstat -a | grep pop3
and see if you get something other than this:

tcp 0 0 *:pop3 *:* LISTEN
