Looks like the 2.4 kernel will be delayed until atleast December. I have been running 2.4 on a few machines for a while now and it seems fairly stable. Looks like Linus is bucking the tread and waiting for the code to be rock solid before it is released. Right now I am running 2.4.0-test8.

2.4.0test9 is out - I think that there are a lot of loose ends still to tie up -- Ted T'so even had a list out last week regarding things that are still in need of work before the release of 2.4 (journaling fs, etc) Linus is tightening the code freeze though
