Would anyone know how much frame relay support there is in the Linux kernels 2.2.xx+. Iam currently using Red Hat 6.2 with 2.2.14 kernel. The specific questions I need answers to are:

Does the 2.2.14 or other kernel fully support the frame relay RFC 1490 specification?

If so, what LMI (Local management interface) protocol supported if at all and where can I get the source code for LMI?

If LMI is incorporated within the frame relay support, does anyone think it can it be used on a RAD chiprouter board which has integrated WAN (& LAN) ports along with a TR4101(MIPS R3000) cpu? ..... (ie, it is not an addin card)

What is the size of the frame relay/LMI support addition to the kernel?

How about support for:
PVC, SVC, SPVC?
IP over frame relay and PPP?
Other network management protocols such as SNMP, CMIP?
Frame Relay/ATM Network+Service Interworking,FRF.5 & FRF.8?
FRF.9 Data Compression?
FRF.12 Fragmentation?
RFC 1490/2427 Multiprotocol Encapsulation?

Many thanks, I hope I haven't confused anyone

Frame Relay (FR) support for linux is built into a two tiered system of device
drivers. The upper layer implements RFC1490 FR specification, and uses the
Data Link Connection Identifier (DLCI) as its hardware address. Usually these
are assigned by your network supplier, they give you the number/numbers of
the Virtual Connections (VC) assigned to you.

You can find the rest of the document in
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/networking/framerelay.txt
