during installation i set the screen res to 640 x 480
and found that some windows dont fit on the screen.
its running a dimond stealth 2500
and an LG studio works monitor
is there a way, without reinstalling, to change this to (hopefully) 1024x768
some one else told me to hold down crtl+alt and press the plus key
however this does not work.
any help would be much Appreciated.
thanks

Arrow

Did you try the - key as well, to zoom out? Also what distro are you using, if your using RedHat, you can type Xconfigurator at the terminal prompt, others vary though, so let us know.

ok

i have mandrake linux 7.2 and the zoom out (i guess that is ctrl+alt and minus?)does not work
i have noticed that mandrake uses some of redhats tools i.e. sndconfig for sound, typing xconfigurator does not seem to work
does it come with mandrake and if so do you know where it is?

thanks.

Question

Did you use an uppercase X in Xconfigurator? It is case sensitive.

You should be able to use the Mandrake configurator (Drakconf, I think) to change the resolution, but if you cannot then you may be able to use Xfree86.

Try using the info in this How-To:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/XFree86-HOWTO/x102.html

if drake config doesnt work, you should use XFree86; you have to know a lot of stuff bout ur monitor and stuff but it works. hope it works!
