I need a java program that can be loaded via an Internet browser, that in turn calls up about 10 other webpages in sequential order at set times. Basically, I want it to load a webpage and about a minute later, load another one from a list, then do it again for an indefinite amount of time. Does anyone know where I can find one or some basic info on how to write one? (I have a little experience with java but not enough to know how to even start a program like this....unfortunately...)
I need it for a kiosk system I am setting up. I needed a set up number of webpages that displayed the status of a bunch of things to be rotated at a workstation running an Internet browser. In addition I needed it to display a certain page on Sunday mornings...... I ended up using Java Script and Java, which were embedded into each of the rotating webpages.
If I do make a profit (which I won't), I keeping it. Sorry........ ;P
Sunday has past , but you could have the screensaver start a script that initiated a browser. Then loaded the pages locally from hard disk. You will need a text file listing all the pages to display and use a wait statement for the time to wait between changes. a "while true do" statement to run the wait command and n=n+1 to grep the next line in the text file beginning with the integer "n". Dont forget a sanity check to be certain that "n" is never > "the value for the last file to load. Or less than the first file. If n=x then n=1 (or 0 if it wont load the first page in the list.)
set cron daily to copy a certain text file into place for grep to read and cron weekly to copy the sunday file after cron daily has run so the sunday file replaces the weekday file.
It might be easier to write a simple script than learn a new language. Dont forget to make the script executable.
There is a "kiosk howto" in the Linux Documents Project. It uses redhat 6.2 . I found it to be slow on an older machine and opted for a base install of Libranet instead. I am working out the screensaver also and will report progress as it happens .
I need this Java Applet which for a school project which serves as a peer to peer filesharing app using a google-engine search function so that users can download stuff like with KaZaA. In fact I'd really like a Java applet that does just what KaZaA does. Can anyone help me?
Any Java whizzes with loads of free time who work for absolutely nothing?

I wrote something for this in javascript a few years back. I'll have to see if I can find the file. Send me a pm if it takes too long.
