I am getting an 0x10 error every time I try to boot linux.
I have two boot floppies, one for Kernel 2.2 and one for 2.4. I get the same results with both floppies.
The floppy is read for a short time, the boot message comes up, e.g., "Start linux, you can enter linux <params>..."
Then I get the error.
How do I get out of this crack?

Any reasons contributing to this behaviour?
Lilo doc sez: 0x10
CRC error. A media error has been detected. Try booting several times, running the map installer a second time (to put the map file at some other physical location or to write ``good data'' over the bad spot), mapping out the bad sectors/tracks and, if all else fails, replacing the media.

See if you can make a new boot.img and rescue.img from your installer cd's, better use different floppies as well, load the boot image say "rescue" at the prompt, load the rescue image and then mount your HD. examine lilo.conf for weird spaces in places there shouldnt be, or none where there should be, run "lilo -t -v" and then if all's ok lilo.
If making a boot.img from the cd's aint possible try downloading tomsrtbt, a fullfledged rescuefloppy, and try with that.

Good luck.
