I want to set up my Ipaq (i know, ich) as a proxy server. I understand there is a way -w- redhat (6.2) to get 2 interfaces using the same nic card, any suggestions for how I can find instructions on how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

When you say 2 interfaces - you mean having multiple IPs assigned to the same interface yeah?

If this is the case then you want to enable "IP Aliasing" in your kernel then you setup new interfaces as eth0:X where X is just the next number. So you would setup eth0 then eth0:0 then eth0:1 etc... You set them up in the same way as you would any other interface.

HTH

Jamie...

PS - How is this gonna help with a proxy???

Hey, thanks.

I figured out the IP aliasing shortly after I made the post, I didnt realize when I posted that the redhat 6.2 kernal supported it.

It will help me because I need to bridge between two networks with the proxy, and it only has the one, built in nic.
