Hey all,
I've just recently install Slackware 7.1 with the smp.s kernel version 2.2.16, and I upgraded my Xfree86 from 3.3.6 to 4.0.1. After doing this and having to upgrade glibc to 2.2, I have come to the problem of regular users needing permission to run X. The error output says that users should use Xwrapper or xdm to startx. I installed Xwrapper just fine, and it will start the xserver but nothing loads just the blank gray-scale screen. I tried making a .xinitrc file with "exec gnome-session" in it, and this did not help still the same problem.
Does anyone know how to configure Xwrapper? Or any other ideas would be wonderful.
Thank you very much.
