How could I know which settings will I have to choose to the SB 16(PnP) to use with the ALSA driver?
Card identifier?
IO port?
MPU IO port?
IRQ?
8-bit DMA?
Max. 8bit DMA size in kB?
16 bit DMA?
Max. 16bit DMA size in kB?

I think the ALSA driver should auto-detect a SB16. If not you could check the bootup messages or the /proc directory. If you still can't get it working post here and we'll look into it further.

For that board I would recommend the OSS driver.
